Day 10 - we are in double figures. w00t
675 skips. Was supposed to do 650 today but I always add a few more skips at the end to make up for the times I stop.
I love the counter on my skip rope. I can concentrate on doing as many skips before I invariably flub it by hitting myself in the shins, on the toes or just wobbly form. I do them in lots of 20 as it is easy to count to 20 and I try to do as many of these as possible in a row. Then I start my internal count from 1 again. My best "run" is 87 skips. Hard to explain as my brain works in weird ways. But it works for me.

Squats seem a bit too easy for me - maybe I am not doing them right or low enough.
Incline press still eludes me as I can only lift myself a few inches off the floor. Pretty pathetic really but something to work on.
I love the resistance band exercises - lots of fun. Had to figure out how to hold my hands for the thumb up curls but I think I got it in the end.
Situps heaps of fun for my 8 month old who loves to try to pull himself up on my legs while I do my sets. I don't let him near me for any of the other exercises in case I slip and hurt him.
I worked up quite a sweat this morning as it is quite warm in Tokyo and I am trying to avoid the A/C as much as possible for power saving reasons. Getting a breeze through the windows though.
Food good - a few leftovers from my brown rice, chicken veg stir fry from the other night for lunch and breakfast is veg fritata on dry toast.
But the main thing is that I can start to see some improvements already - mainly in my abs and energy levels. My clothes are fitting a little better. Not enough for anybody else to notice but I am happy.

Great job on the skipping Tracey, really well done !
ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing with clothes and feeling just a little "tighter" is the only way I can describe it. Am looking forward to getting my Tanita skipping rope like yours.
ReplyDeleteI count skips the same way!
ReplyDeleteIt's 1 thru 20, then 1-19 then 40, 1-19 then 60. I think it's my inner monologue versus the speed of the rope, the fewer syllables to mentally register the better!
87 is a good number in a row, and probably a whole lot more than on day 1?
You are rocking the rope! I could definitely take a page from your book...
ReplyDeleteThats great Tracey! Within no time you'll notice huge improvements! When I went back to work after my third son was 6 months, I was 11 kilos heavier than now (although I was still breastfeeding). Losing the weight made such a difference to my self esteem and energy levels!
ReplyDeleteOn the lunges, I am not an expert by any means, but I try to do them slowly making sure I'm engaging my core and my gluts. Agree it feels too easy if you just rush through.
Good on ya Trace! Have you thought about cleaning the soles of your gym shoes and using them indoors? Would that work?
ReplyDeleteYou are doing amazing! 2.5 kilos - wow!
Sigsy!! You found me!! You have come here see the new cult I have joined?? I am loving it.
ReplyDeleteFinding some new ways to cook veg and Kristen's recipes are coming in really handy right about now too. Am having udon salad for dinner with a side of fish.
Great work with Skipping Tracey...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the spirits...
